NEW UT LINEBACKERS COACH JEFF CHOATE EMBRACES HIS PLAYERS

Austin, Texas - Former University of Florida Linebacker Michael Taylor had the highest praise for incoming University of Texas co-Defensive Coordinator and Inside Linebackers Coach Jeff Choate. (VSS Promo Video)

"Choate is my guy" said Taylor. Coach Choate arrives in Austin fresh off of a successful campaign as the Head Coach at Montana State, including deep back to back FCS playoff runs. 

Taylor joined our Down The Line Podcast for an in depth 45 minute interview of his personal journey in football that crossed his path with legandary football coaches Urban Meyer, Monte & Lane Kiffin, Will Muschamp and UT's newly anointed defensive specialist Jeff Choate.

Michael Taylor, who was voted the Most Spirited Florida Gator in the locker room two years in a row, had some sage advice for the Longhorns defense on what they can expect from Coach Choate. In our estimation Michael's words on Choate could be a precursor for the experience UT Football Players will reiterate as time goes forward. Choate gets it, he knows and preaches that football is about cohesion and putting it all together.

Taylor is the type of teammate whose passion and heart oozes out football IQ, visible through his efforts on and off the field of play. While Taylor's NFL dream may have fallen short after a tryout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, that didn't discourage Michael from following his dreams as a professional athlete. 

Fast forward to 2019; Michael is still living the football dream in staring for the Asahi Soft Drink Challengers in Japans X-League as one of the imported players from the USA.
